Northwestern Oklahoma State University Rangers Fall in Extra innings to No.20 Arkansas Tech in Extra Innings

Northwestern Oklahoma State four game win streak was snapped to Arkansas Tech in extra innings 6-5 as the Wonder Boys walked off on a Ranger error. Arkansas Tech used a big seventh innings to tie the game before winning in the 11th inning.

Brandon Holdren finished with a team high three hits in the game with an RBI. Colby Jarnigan finished with two hits as well. 

The game started with a leadoff single by Shaughn Kelly but the Rangers went in order from there. Cole Rodriguez threw a scoreless first as well after working around a two out jam. 

The game remained scoreless into the third inning when Brandon Holdren hit a solo home run on a full count to take a 1-0 lead. Arkansas Tech, However answered back in the third when Bunton of the Wonder Boys singled, scoring their first run followed by another RBI single for a 2-1 lead over the Rangers. 

Northwestern though like Arkansas Tech answered back with a three spot in their half of the fourth. Priest hit an infield single to score Gavin Mendoza. Rangers took advantage of an error by Arkansas Tech taking a 4-2 lead after the fourth inning after Cole Rodriguez worked around two singles before striking out Ranallo for the scoreless inning. 

After a couple of quiet innings the middle innings Arkansas Tech came by to tie the game in the bottom of the sixth inning as a triple to right field made the game 4-3 before a single by Ranallo tied the game at 4-4. 

The Rangers got the lead back in the seventh inning after back to back singles pushed Barcello to third before a sacrifice fly hit by Jon Shaffer pushed the Rangers in front 5-4. 

Arkansas Tech came back to tie the game in the bottom of the seventh inning on a throwing error by the Rangers for a 5-5 game after the seventh inning. The game remained 5-5 after nine innings as it went into extra innings. Cade Phelps worked around a jam as the Wonder Boys put a runner on third but could not score. 

Both teams went down in order in the 10th inning as Phelps struckout two Arkansas Tech hitters. In the 11th inning Arkansa Tech hit two singles before winning the game on a walk off error. The winning run scored, making the game 6-5 for the final.
